about

get to know me

hi, i'm raquel, and i'm your alaska friend

i’m a flight attendant, a dinner-table enthusiast, and the friend who texts you a list of places the second you say you’re coming to alaska. my life happens in little pockets between trips: a quick layover, a long dinner, a slow morning by the water before the next show time. this is where i keep all of it.

i love a reason to dress up. oysters, a really good cocktail, a table full of people catching up — that’s my happy place. but i’m just as happy in boots, walking a harbor or chasing that warm, gold alaska light on a cold afternoon. both are me, and honestly both are alaska too.

alaska, and a life in the air

flying has shown me so many places, but alaska is the one that always feels like home. it’s big and wild and a little bit glamorous when you know where to look: harbors full of working boats, little towns with big personalities, and anchorage dinners that turn a regular thursday into a memory.

i also love being a steady landing spot for newer flight attendants. the job can feel like a lot at first — the schedules, the reserve days, the delays nobody planned for. if i can share what i’ve learned (and where to get a great lunch on a layover), i’m happy.

life between flights

the journal is where i slow down and write it all out: layover guides with where to eat and what to see, the unexpected delays that turn into the best afternoons, and alaska gatherings that remind me why i love it here. no rush — read one with your coffee.
